Purpose: create a named user account and assign the access needed for the person’s job. Open User Administration and select Create User. Complete the fields shown by the live form: username/login (unique sign-in identifier), email (account identity and notification destination), first and last name or display name (identifies the person in lists), password or password setup (authentication; never include it in notes or share it), role (controls available capabilities), group or department (if offered, supports team ownership and routing), active/enabled status (whether the account can be used), and any profile fields such as phone or employee ID that the form requires. Exact labels vary with the installed module version; use the live form as the source of truth and do not assume an optional field exists. Before saving, verify the email, role, group and status. Save/Create User, then search the user list and confirm the record and access. Only authorized administrators should create, edit, disable or delete accounts. Assign least privilege, never share accounts, and use the approved password-reset flow rather than recording credentials. Related areas include roles and permissions, groups, notifications, access requests, and the WordPress user account. If a field is not present in the live form, it is not implied to be supported by this guide.
